When a door closes another shall open

When a door closes another shall open... and it's true to be said. From the start of this pandemic, I thought, "Oh lord what are we going to do"? The preferred way I share my work is in the public setting: at arts shows and music festivals... all canceled. The only way for us to find comfort was to count our blessings. We have each other. We have a wonderful community. We have a home. We have an abundance of nature all around us. We find answers to many questions by walking in the woods. There has been several years we have found eggs on milkweed and brought the leaves home to watch the eggs hatch to become caterpillars then change to become butterflies. This piece is a reflection of the process of growth and change. It gives me comfort that change will happen and sometimes not knowing the outcome is ok. With some patience and a willingness to observe the beauty around us, we are reminded that everything is going to be alright.
