This month's free art class we will put a bit of color in our lives by creating a batik handkerchief. You are also welcome to bring a button up shirt or t-shirt or pillow cover. It must be 100% cotton.
Batik is a process where we apply wax using stamps and tjanting needles. The wax works as a resist. We then use dye to color our fabric. The wax will be washed out revealing a pattern.

Mountain SOL and Eddie Spaghetti Art are partnering to offering free nature based art classes at the Ferry House taking place monthly.
Mountain SOL is an educational non-profit focused on nature awareness, stewardship, and youth-led leadership. We offer in-school classes for students at our partner school, Morgantown Learning Academy, and afterschool and summer programs available to all local students. Our classes are more than just lesson plans taught outside. They are engaging, fully immersive experiences that emphasize passion, personal responsibility, and leadership.
