sorry, class is full Wed. Feb. 4 6:00-8 Book Binding with Swifty Free art class Scotts run Resonance project
Harold “Swifty” will be demonstrating how to sew signature pages together to be made into a notebook. (A signature in bookbinding is a set of folded pages that are grouped together to form a section of the book) Participants will learn how to use a threaded needle and hole punch to sew the inside signatures together. We will then finish the notebook by creating a decorative cover.
I have started to learn bookbinding in the last year or so as a hobby and I'm not a professional bookbinder by any means but it is very interesting to me since I've been around it all my life in the printing industry.
Swifty will also bring an antique printing press to share type set printing.
This opportunity is made possible by the Scott’s Run Resonance Project and a Grant from Mid-Atlantic Arts
Workshop takes place at The Ferry House https://maps.app.goo.gl/9qnzdakbDxDmaAje8?g_st=ipc
