Grateful to Eddie Spaghetti Art for always being up for my slightly odd assortment of ideas. :)
I found myself wondering how I wanted to mark this album finally being out in the world, especially here, with this community. Since I can’t exactly gather the 20+ mostly Michigan-based musicians from the record in Morgantown this felt like the next best thing: a creative way to share it together.
I’ll bring speakers and a CD player so we can listen through the album, start to finish, while making some art. There will be supplies for drawing, simple printmaking, and sewing cyanotype patches (feel free to bring clothing or fabric if you’d like to stitch something). I’ll also have some album patches if you want to add them to a jacket, bag, or case.
You’re just as welcome to come and read, listen, or bring a small (quiet) project to work on.
And I also invited Sara Cottingham and John Posey to play a couple of the songs with me. They'll be *very* different from what's on the album, but I think that's what will make it cool!
A low-key evening for you to make some art, listen to some music, and hang out!
